About Sicilian Defense

The Sicilian is Black's best scoring reply to 1.e4 at every level: White gets extra center space; Black gets the c-file, a half-open file for counterplay, and structural targets. The Najdorf (…a6) is the main line of main lines; the Dragon (…g6, …Bg7 fianchetto) is the sharp classic with the Yugoslav Attack opposite. Theory load is real — club players should learn ONE Sicilian system deeply rather than five shallowly.
